Devdutt Padikkal showed exactly why he is rated so highly in the cricketing world, and smashed a sensational 101* off just 52 deliveries, as the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) side annihilated the Rajasthan Royals with 10 wickets to spare. Giving Padikkal good support at the other end was batting icon Virat Kohli.

The master batsman scored a classy 72* off 47 balls, as the two opening batsmen wreaked havoc with the blade. Kohli also became the first-ever batsman in the history of IPL cricket to go past the 6000-run mark.

The Rajasthan bowlers just did not know what hit them. In fact, such was the pathetic state of affairs for the Rajasthan outfit that 5 out of their 6 bowlers went at an economy rate of more than 9 runs an over.

Shivam Dube and Rahul Tewatia propel Rajasthan Royals to 177/9

Shivam Dube and Rahul Tewatia were the main contributors for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) side and helped the ‘Men in Pink’ post a competitive total of 177/9 on the board. While Dube scored a brisk 46 off 32 deliveries, Tewatia smashed 40 at a strike rate of 173.91. Apart from Tewatia and Dube, the likes of Riyan Parag and skipper Sanju Samson also contributed some useful runs.

On the bowling front, Mohammed Siraj and Harshal Patel scalped 3 wickets each for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) outfit. With this victory, the RCB side has moved to the top place in the points table, whereas the Rajasthan Royals are languishing at the last place.

Surely, the RCB side is looking invincible at the moment!

Royal Challengers Bangalore will next meet Chennai Super Kings, led by MS Dhoni, at the Wankhede Stadium on the 25th of April on Sunday. With RCB being unstoppable, it will be an interesting contest to watch out for against an experienced CSK line-up. On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals will play their next encounter against Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday 24th of April at the same venue.
