Ireland A team set to tour Bangladesh to play 5-match ODI series and 1 four-day match against Bangladesh A. The Irish junior team will arrive on October 7 and the series will get underway on October 11 with the four-day match. The venue for the ODI series will be Cox Bazar Sheikh Kamal International Stadium’s main stadium & Academy stadium.

The four-day match is scheduled to be played at the Sylhet International Stadium. After the four-day match, the ODI series will begin on 17th October and will end on October 26. Before the Ireland tour, Afghanistan Under-19 team will also be coming to Bangladesh to play a 5-match ODI series against Bangladesh Under-19.

The senior team in South Africa

Meanwhile, the senior team already reached South Africa on Saturday to play 2 Tests, 3 ODIs & 2 T20Is. The Tigers will play their first & only practice match on September 21 against South Africa XI.  The First Test will be played at Potchefstroom on September 28 while the second Test will be held at Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein on October 6.

The subcontinental outfit played Test cricket of the highest quality against Australia just weeks ago as the series was tied at 1-1. Bangladesh’s success at home is news to none but they can be dangerous overseas as well.

In the recent away tours, the performance of Bangladesh has been immensely good and on their day they can be a dangerous team and spring up a surprise and put the opponents on the back foot. The same will be expected out of them in South Africa.

Three one-day internationals and two Twenty20s are also expected to take place during the Tour. While the Test team would be led by Mushfiqur Rahim, BCB is yet to announce the limited overs squad. Shakib Al Hasan, who will not be featuring in the two Tests will be available for the limited overs series.
