Jasprit Bumrah, over the course of his international career, has turned out to be an absolute nightmare for batters across the globe. After grilling hard in the limited-overs format for a couple of years, he made his Test debut last year in January versus South Africa. Ever since, he hasn’t looked back. Recently, he picked up a hat-trick in the second Test against the West Indies in Jamaica.

In the first Test at the North Sound, Antigua, he rattled the hosts’ batting lineup with a five-wicket haul. Now at the Sabina Park, he carried over his form from the last game. Bumrah became the third bowler after Harbhajan Singh and Irfan Pathan to get a Test hat-trick. Even as Harbhajan’s feat came back in 2001 versus Australia, Irfan’s feat came way back in 2006 against Pakistan.

As far as Bumrah’s hat-trick is concerned, he pinned Darren Bravo with a delivery that bounced and found the batsman’s outside edge. Then he trapped Shamarh Brooks, playing only his second Test, in front. Bumrah then got rid of Roston Chase to accomplish the milestone. For Chase’s wicket, the Decision Review System (DRS) had to be used as the on-field umpire didn’t give him out.

Bumrah picked up six wickets on the second day of the Test. It goes without saying that the home team’s batsmen had very little clue about the speedster’s deliveries. Bumrah’s magic with the ball in hand also impressed commentator Ian Bishop. “Jasprit Bumrah is a once in a lifetime talent,” tweeted the former West Indies cricketer.

In the meantime, Harbhajan and Irfan welcomed Bumrah into the hat-trick club. Harbhajan, who got the hat-trick at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata, was proud of what Bumrah has done. The tweaker took to Twitter and wrote, “Sensational @Jaspritbumrah93 well done on your great spell.. welcome in the hattrick club so so so proud of you. Keep it going brother,”

Irfan also lauded Bumrah on his show. The all-rounder took to Twitter and wrote, “Welcome to the #Hattrick club @Jaspritbumrah93.” Irfan got the feat at the Karachi National Stadium, dismissing the likes of Salman Butt, Imran Farhat and Younis Khan.
