Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan won the ‘Best Actor’ award at the Filmfare Awards on Saturday. Irrfan had won the award for his role in the movie ‘Hindi Medium’ at a glittering ceremony of the awards night in Mumbai. The Femina India magazine tried to congratulate the actor for his amazing performance. They termed it as ‘well-deserved’.

If in case you are wondering as to why a film news is doing rounds in a cricket site, calm down! There is more to add. Although Femina India wanted to congratulate Irrfan for the achievement, a wrong tag left the Twitterati in splits. The magazine tagged cricketer Irfan Pathan instead of Irrfan Khan.

Further, the fact that Irfan Pathan actually replied to this tweet makes it even more amusing. The leading entertainment magazine tweeted today morning that ‘It was definitely well deserved, @IrfanPathan‘. The Baroda all-rounder found the funny side of this. Pathan tickled the funny bone of Twitter and gave a brilliant reply to the magazine. He replied that “Thank un sorry I couldn’t make it but u can send the award to me at my home ;);)”, on his Twitter account.

Irfan Pathan, as we all know is a fun loving person. Also, he is often known for his witty responses on Twitter. The Twitterati found this reply super cool and funny. Twitter hailed his reply as ‘epic’. They left no opportunity to troll the magazine. Some also said that Irfan Pathan deserved to win an award for this reply.

In a recent development, the 33-year old player was dropped after two Ranji games despite being named Baroda captain and mentor in the current season. Further, he wasn’t selected for the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament as well. It was because of this, that the left-handed all-rounder decided to opt for another domestic team. He has sought a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from Baroda, a team he has represented for the last 17 years.

Pathan is also up for grabs in the IPL auctions set to take place on the 27th and 28th of January. Franchises would be tempted to pick him given his all-round abilities. Also, the fact that he is an Indian player will be an added advantage for the team.

The quirky response evoked hilarious laughter amongst the Twitterati
