The mother of all clashes and the biggest sporting rivalry is renewed at The Oval between India and Pakistan. Both teams have played exceptional cricket to reach the finals of the eight-nation tournament. Though India is a heavier team on paper, knockout clashes transcend everything as already seen in the tournament.

Both India and Pakistan have stuttered once in the tournament losing one game each but turned their campaigns around by playing some outstanding cricket. Sarfaraz and Virat Kohli have liked chasing and whoever wins the toss will opt to chase on Sunday. It will be a great contest between India’s top order and the bowling of Pakistan, both in brilliant form.

Irfan Pathan wishes India

India and Baroda all-rounder Irfan Pathan, who was a part of the winning squad in the 2013 edition, wished Team India well for the big finals. Pathan has been working very hard on his game and fitness to come back in the side. Through his message on micro-blogging website Twitter, Pathan said India must keep the “eat, sleep and repeat mode on”. India have won the last two games convincingly which is what Pathan meant by the “repeat” mode.

After a short while, the all-rounder uploaded another picture on his account, of his son – Imran – who was wearing a blue T-shirt with Team India written on it to support India. The adorable kid also had his name written on the back of the T-shirt and had the number 56 printed below his name. Irfan has always had the 56 number on his jersey irrespective of the team he has played for and it wasn’t surprising that Imran had the same number on.

It will be a pulsating contest between India and Pakistan. Though India have beaten them once earlier in the tournament, they must be wary of Pakistan’s resurgence, especially with the ball.
