Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed has stated that it is indeed difficult not having someone like Mustafizur Rahman in the mix for such an important match against India. However, despite this, Taskin is quite confident that the Bangladeshis could indeed give a good account of themselves on the day.

While Taskin spoke of the pacers in the side, he also relished the challenge of playing India for the first time in a Test match, something he had not done in his career thus far.

“Many fast bowlers are coming to the national team now and all of them are highly potential. But it’s true that we’ll miss Mustafiz. He’s a world class fast bowler and can change the course of the match. But unfortunately he is not fit enough and hopefully, he will come back and together we will bowl soon.”

“It feels good as we are here for the first time to play a test match. It’s a good opportunity to show the world that we can play well. India is a world famous team and it’s a good opportunity for the young players like us to execute our skills and merits.”

Taskin Ahmed was also confident of playing the two-day warm-up match against India ‘A’.

“Tomorrow’s (Sunday) match is really important. We have just returned from New Zealand and the condition is pretty much different from there. In New Zealand, balls carried really well to the keeper but here the track is a little bit slow. Tomorrow’s match will really help us to adjust this condition and we are hopeful to utilize it properly.”
