Deepak Hooda made his ODI debut for the Indian side in the 1st ODI against the West Indies. And, Hooda has now revealed that his dream was to get his debut ODI cap from either Virat Kohli or MS Dhoni.

Hooda also stated that he has worked hard for representing the Indian side and stated that he feels blessed to be a part of the Indian cricket team. Hooda also said that getting the Indian ODI cap from Kohli was amazing.

“I made my debut in the first ODI, it was an amazing feeling. You always work hard for that, before the match I spoke to you (Suryakumar Yadav). I feel blessed to be a part of the side. It was my childhood dream to get cap from either MS Dhoni or Virat Kohli. Getting the cap from Kohli was an amazing feeling. I worked on side lining the distraction and work on my process,” said Hooda in a video released on BCCI.tv.

Deepak Hooda also took to Twitter and stated that he feels honoured and blessed to get the opportunity to represent the Indian side. Adding that it was a ‘dream come true’ moment for him to receive his Indian cap from Kohli, Hooda concluded by thanking everyone who was involved in his journey as a cricketer.

“Truly honoured and blessed on getting the opportunity to represent my country. A very special and dream come true moment for me to receive the cap from Virat Kohli bhaiya. Thank you to each and everyone involved in this wonderful journey,” tweeted Deepak Hooda.

Deepak Hooda scored an unbeaten 26 in the 1st ODI against the West Indies and helped the Rohit Sharma-led outfit to beat their opposition by 6 wickets. In the 2nd ODI too, Hooda contributed a vital 25-ball 29 with the willow in hand. India are currently leading the three-match ODI series 2-0.
