Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni has reacted to one of his die-hard fan’s incredible gesture for him. Gopikrishnan, a resident of Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu, is a huge Dhoni fan and recently showed his love for the CSK skipper by painting his entire house in CSK colours. Not only that, but he has also named the house as ‘Home of Dhoni Fan’.

The walls of the house have the words “Whistle Podu” and portraits of Dhoni painted on them. According to reports, Gopikrishnan spent Rs 1.5 lakh on the special paint job. Earlier this month, the pictures of the home went viral after CSK took to their official Twitter handle to share the same. And the super fan’s hard work has paid off as Dhoni himself has reacted to it.

On Monday, the official social media handle of the CSK franchise shared Dhoni’s overwhelming reaction. The former India skipper revealed that he had already seen the pictures on Instagram before expressing gratitude towards Gopikrishnan. Showing his modest nature again, the veteran also said that the gesture from Gopikrishnan was not only about him but also about the franchise.

“I saw it on Instagram. I think it’s a great gesture. At the same time, you can see that it’s not only about me. They’re the biggest fans of CSK as well,” Dhoni said.

“It is not something that can be done easily. You sit, you decide (the colour of the house)…the whole family needs to agree on that. This is something that would stay. This is not like an Instagram or a Twitter post where you post something and change it overnight. This is something that will stay,” added the CSK stalwart as he lauded the fan for his gesture.

CSK’s poor season

The ongoing season has turned out to be a disastrous one for MS Dhoni and his side. On Sunday, CSK became the first side to be eliminated from the race for IPL 2020 playoffs after Rajasthan beat Mumbai by eight wickets. With only 4 wins from 12 games, the three-time IPL champions are currently languishing at the bottom of the points table.

Before the ongoing edition, the Chennai-based franchise had reached the knockouts in each of the 10 seasons in which it has been part of the IPL. The MS Dhoni-led side had never finished below fourth place until now.
