Jacques Kallis to join KKR as mentor and batting consultant

Jacques Kallis to join KKR as mentor and batting consultant: Former South African All-Rounder Jacques Kallis has joined IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) support staff as mentor and batting consultant for the Indian Premier league 2015. KKR who are the current IPL champions and the team has won the coveted title two times in the past.
Kallis said at the media release “KKR has been my Indian family for the last four years. I have built fantastic relationships with the management and the players and have been very fortunate to assist KKR in winning two IPL championships,”
“Over the past year, I have had a chance to think about my future and when KKR approached me with this long-term offer, I jumped at it. KKR is a great brand and I am really looking forward to assisting them in my new role as mentor and batting consultant,” the South African said.
Jacque Kallis joined the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2011. He played a very crucial role in winning the title in 2012. However his effectiveness started to fade away slowly and did not have his usual impact but he continued to play an important role for them.
Jacque Kallis is also associated as a player with The Big bash league team Sydney Thunders and will play in Caribbean Premier League next year as well.
Knight Riders CEO Venky Mysore confirmed the news and said “We are honored to start a long term relationship with Jacques in a role as mentor and different role as mentor and batting consultant.
“Jacques’ commitment to KKR has been brilliant and his contribution both on the field and in the dressing room has been superb. We are delighted to continue the association.”
He will be joining the team of Wasim Akram, Vijay Dahiya and Trevor Bayliss in the support staff.
