The whole Australian media, the millions of fans and lovers of the cricket game in Australia and in the different parts of the world and even the Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull are now raising several questions regarding the integrity of the Australian cricketers involved in the ball-tampering controversy during the third Test match against South Africa.

Australian skipper Steve Smith and the main culprit in the false act Cameron Bancroft admitted in front of the media, that the attempt to alter the condition of the ball was all a planned conspiracy, which was initiated by the leadership group of the Australian team. In the fallout of the devastating incident, both skipper Smith and his deputy David Warner stood down from their respective leadership posts for the last 2 days of the Test match.

They should be straight away flicked out of the game

Many former cricketers all around the world especially in Australia are equally feeling impassioned after getting to know about the involvements of their own cricketers in such improper activities. Former Australian fast bowler Jeff Thomson feels all these culprits should be straight away banned for life from the cricket game for committing these horrendous acts. However, the ICC has already penalized both Smith with a one-match suspension and 100% match fees fine and Bancroft has been handed 75 percent fine of his match fees.

“They should not get a match penalty, they should just get flicked. I don’t care who they are, they should just see ya later,” said Thomson as quoted by 9news.com.au.

These incidents spoil the image of every Australian cricketer

Australia as a country has always been regarded as a very sporting nation who have constantly played every sport with a lot of pride. But such incidents like the ball-tampering one happened in the Test match in South Africa has portrayed a terrifying image of all the Australian cricketers that have played or are still playing the game for their national country. Thomson also raised questions about the behaviour of this Australian team while facing different oppositions on the field.

“It’s a slur on everyone who’s ever played cricket. They’re like spoilt brats if it doesn’t go their way, they spit the dummy, whinge about it, carry on stupidly,” further added the former Australian cricketer.
