Jemimah Rodrigues has come back with a bang in cricket’s latest invention The Hundred. Dropped from the Indian team in the recently concluded all-format tour to England, the 20-year-old came roaring back by scoring 92 and 60 for her team Northern Superchargers. She timed the ball beautifully and looked confident in both innings. The Superchargers too have got off to a good start in the Hundred as they have won two games.
Apart from being known for her batting skills, Rodrigues is also one of the most active women cricketers on social media. She is often seen as the stress buster in whichever leagues she plays or for India. Be it her dancing video with the security guard during the last year’s ICC T20 World Cup 2020, or she teaching Hindi to her Superchargers teammates, the 20-year-old sure knows how to make her buddies and her fans laugh with something unique or the other.
This time the right hand-batter is again back and has posted a video on her official Twitter account with none other Proteas batting superstar Laura Wolvaardt. When the Supercharges managed to sign the duo for the Hundred, there were rumors as to who will win the battle of cover drives. If Rodrigues is aesthetically pleasing while caressing the ball through covers, Wolvaardt is not far behind as she can hit the ball all day long in covers with her drives.
Jemimah Rodrigues and Laura Wolvaardt pair for a signing concert
Rodrigues has posted a video with the Proteas opening batter in which we can see Wolvaardt signing a song and the Indian superstar playing the guitar. Whenever Rodrigues gets some spare time, she makes sure to play guitar and makes sure to post it on social media. One fact is evident from the video that both the players are not only skillful in cricket but also good at singing and at guitar respectively.
With the Superchargers hitting the right notes so far in the Hundred, the team is looking a well-oiled unit under the leadership of Lauren Winfield-Hill. With Rodrigues in sizzling form, the team will be sure to cash in on the momentum and do well in the remaining games.
