The Indian team has had a stupendous run of form in their recently concluded series of South Africa. The Men in Blue slumped to defeats in the first two Tests. However, they stormed back and humbled the hosts at the Wanderers in Johannesburg. Despite the series loss, the Indians were showered with praises for their emphatic win in the final game of the three-match affair.

The Indians carried forward their rich vein of form to the ODI series and beat the Proteas black and blue. Virat Kohli’s men also registered a triumph in the three-match T20I series. Kapil Dev, the former Indian all-rounder was in awe of India’s stupendous performance. He praised Virat Kohli’s leadership and also mentioned that India has the potential to produce similar results in England and Australia.

Chances in Australia and England

“His character shows that he believes he can do it but for that, he has to work very hard. As a captain, you have to take the team along with you and if he can do it, there is no reason why India cannot win in England and Australia. I have no doubt this team can do that but they have to work very hard.” Kapil Dev was quoted as saying in a recent interaction with the media.

Kapil, popularly known as the Haryana Hurricane among his fans, also mentioned that India could also have churned out better results in the first couple of Tests. “They (India) could have done better in the Test series but they ended really well. They won hands down in the shorter formats in South Africa, which we never did in the past. It was outstanding display. Had they played the first two Tests, a little better it could have been a different story altogether,” he added

After a stern test against South Arica, India will travel England for a bilateral series and will subsequently tour Australia later this year. During their erstwhile tours of the nations, India slumped to humiliating defeats. Nevertheless, they would be hoping to turn their fortunes around and string together impressive performances this time around.
