Indian leggie Karn Sharma is apparently the lucky mascot in the Indian Premier League. The Meerut-born leggie is a proud holder of three IPL titles in a row. He has been a part of the winning side in the tournament for the last three seasons. This year, Karn was picked up by the Chennai Super Kings at the IPL auctions. He played 6 matches for the eventual champions and bagged four wickets.
His best performance came against the Rajasthan Royals in Pune where he scalped 2/13 in a winning cause. Karn Sharma was picked up ahead of Harbhajan Singh in the big finals against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. He was all smiles after his side lifted the trophy under the leadership of MS Dhoni. Interestingly, last season, he had an even better run on the personal front. Karn served the Mumbai Indians in the 2017 edition of the IPL.
For the MI team, he played 9 matches in the season and returned with 13 wickets to his name. This included an effort of 4/16 as well. He was one of the key players that saw the Mumbai Indians lift the IPL title for the third time in the history of the tournament. Going back in the timeline, even more, the 2016 edition of the IPL saw Karn Sharma wear the Sunrisers Hyderabad jersey.
For the Orange Army, Karn got five opportunities in the season. He failed to pick any wickets and had a terrible run in the season. For the team, though, he seemed to be the lucky mascot. The Sunrisers won the IPL title for the first time ever in the history of the tournament.
Recently, after the Chennai Super Kings sealed the ultimate glory in 2018, Karn took to micro-blogging site Twitter to show off his IPL achievements. He posted a picture which had the helmets of the Sunrisers, the Super Kings, and Mumbai Indians. The picture needed no caption and it spoke volumes about the luck factor that Karn believes he brings to the table.
