He has just led the West Indies to their first ODI series win since 2014. Under Kieron Pollard, the Caribbeans thrashed Afghanistan 3-0 in their ongoing tour in India. The dashing batting all-rounder will next lead his team in a three-T20I series starting Thursday and will look to repeat the same performance. However, in between the series, Pollard made out time to meet his two old and close Indian cricketer friends — Hardik and Krunal Pandya.

The reason why Pollard shares a rapport with the cricketer brothers is that all three of them have been playing for the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians for a long time. These three players have only played for the MI in the IPL and are among their key assets, irrespective of their forms. Their camaraderie has made their relations so special that Hardik even calls Pollard as a brother.

Hardik Pandya loves Kieron Pollard’s company

Hardik, who hasn’t played international cricket since the T20I series against South Africa at home in September because of a back injury and surgery, posted on his Instagram account a picture of himself in his familiar stylish avatar with his brother Krunal and Pollard in a restaurant and he captioned it, “Good conversations are great but good company to go with it is better Always fun with Polly around.”

Here’s his post

Krunal, on the other hand, featured in the first two T20Is against Bangladesh but didn’t play the third after going wicketless. The elder brother of Hardik has represented India in the shortest format only and played alongside Hardik in the series against South Africa that ended 1-1.

Pollard did not get to do something in the recent series against the Afghans and played just one 30-plus knock, his leadership was praised. The 32-year-old, who has played in only 104 ODI games since making debut in 2007, was unfortunate to have missed playing the World Cup in England although fans expected him to be in.

The man, who has a phenomenal record in the T20s, last played a T20I against India in August and will be looking to connect in the upcoming games before the twin limited-over series against India next month.
