Krunal Pandya makes his national debut; Hardik Pandya delighted

Krunal Pandya, the Baroda all-rounder, has been knocking on the selectors’ door for quite a while. He has played a few seasons of Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Mumbai Indians (MI) under the leadership of Rohit Sharma and he hasn’t disappointed by any stretch of the imagination. Moreover, he got to play alongside Hardik Pandya, his younger brother.

The youngster was rewarded when he was called up for the T20I series against England. However, the same was as a replacement and he didn’t get to don the national jersey in the presence of more prominent names in the lineup. However, the 27-year-old went back to the domestic circuit and put forth some sterling performances in all the departments.

Hardik delighted for Krunal

His fortunes eventually changed when he was picked for the three-match T20I series against the Windies. Moreover, he was also picked for the T20I series against Australia, which gets underway on November 21 at The Gabba in Brisbane. His joy multiplied when he was included in the 12-man squad for the first T20I at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

He eventually broke into the playing eleven and got his dream fulfilled of representing the Indian team at the highest level. In the meantime, Hardik, his younger brother, is delighted for his loved one’s success. He revealed the dreams he had for Krunal. Hardik is currently out of the Indian team owing to an acute lower back injury he suffered during the Asia Cup.

He fell flat on the face in the pitch during the match against Pakistan after which he was stretchered off. He wasn’t picked for the ongoing series against the Windies. To add insult to injury, he was also left out of the squad for the Australia series later this year. He took to Twitter, uploaded a video and wrote, “This is what we’ve dreamed of big bro @krunalpandya24”
