The Lahore Qalandars, one of the side in the Pakistan Cricket Board’s T20 league Pakistan Super League got a major setback when their one of star overseas player Chris Lynn injured his shoulder during the final of Trans-Tasman Twenty20 Trophy against New Zealand. The Qalandars management has however decided to replace the unassuming Lynn with the more experienced Denesh Ramdin. The 32-year old’s wicketkeeping prowess will also come in handy for the Pakistan-based franchise.

Lynn dived to stop a single and looked in a lot of pain. He left the ground holding his wrist and never took the field in the game. Australia eventually won the rain-hit game and the tri-series trophy with England being the third team. Lynn was sent for scans which later revealed that he has dislocated his right shoulder.

Cricket Australia confirmed that the right-hander will not participate in the tournament and will return to Brisbane. Lynn was one of the highest paid players during the recently concluded IPL auction when he was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders.

West Indies wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin the replacement

As per Aalia Rasheed, an anchor working with Geo Television revealed that West Indies wicketkeeper-batsman Denesh Ramdin will replace the injured Chris Lynn in the side who will start their campaign on Friday against Multan Sultan who are led by Shoaib Malik.

Interestingly, Qalandar’s captain Brendon McCullum was captain of Lynn in Big Bash League as well where the two together has demolished the bowling attacks a number of times. Lynn’s relationship with injuries is not new as the batter had earlier missed few games in the Big Bash as well because of injury. He got injured himself during last season’s IPL as well because of an injury while fielding.

Lynn was one of the marquee players of Lahore Qalandar’s team. Now the side will reply upon likes of McCullum, Sunil Narine, Mustafizur Rahman and Mitchell McClenaghan along with Pakistani players that include Umar Akmal, Fakhar Zaman ,and Yasir Shah.

Darren Sammy led Peshawar Zalmi will be defending their trophy as they start the tournament against Multan Sultans at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
