Legends League Cricket: Amitabh Bacchan issues apology after sharing wrong adevertisement involving Sachin Tendulkar

Veteran actor Amitabh Bacchan has issued an apology to fans for sharing a wrong advertisement. The Sholay actor, who’s the brand ambassador of Legends League Cricket, featured in the promo of the upcoming tournament. Sachin Tendulkar’s name was also mentioned in the promo as fans geared up to see the former Indian batter back in action again. However, Tendulkar’s company, SRT Sports Management Private Limited, later clarified that the batting great won’t feature in the tournament.
The firm also urged the organizers to not mislead Amitabh Bacchan and fans with false information. This gaffe left the fans fumed as social media got flooded with criticism for the organizers. The Sholay actor also came under the scanner for sharing incorrect information. However, following the clarification tweet from Sachin’s company, Amitabh apologized to the fans and shared the revised promo which didn’t have Tendulkar’s name.

Sachin Tendulkar’s company denied the rumours
Hours before Bacchan’s Twitter, Tendulkar’s company confirmed that the 48-year-old won’t feature in the competition. “The news about @sachin_rt ’s participation in ‘Legends League Cricket’ is not true. The organisers should refrain from misleading cricket fans and Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. – Official spokesperson, SRT Sports Management Pvt. Ltd,” wrote the firm in a tweet while reacting to Bacchan’s incorrect promotional post.
For the unversed, the Legends League Cricket will see several former players from India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, England, Australia and other cricketing nations plying their trade. All these players would be divided into three teams – India Maharajas, Asia Lions, and World Giants. The tournament gets underway on January 20 with all matches taking place at the Al Amerat Cricket Stadium in Oman. The final clash is scheduled to take place on January 29.
