Usman Khawaja has a roller-coaster international career so far and he was last seen representing Australia in the 2019 Ashes. But he continues to have a dominating presence in the domestic circuit where he captains the Queensland state team.

Hailed as one of the natural talents during his initial days, he has found it tough to cement his place in the national team. But that never deterred him from enjoying his life. He got married to a beautiful girl named Rachel McLellan in April 2018.

The Pakistani-born cricketer tied the knot with 24-year-old Rachel on the Sunshine coast before she converted to Islam. Meanwhile, after a happy married life for almost two years, the couple is expecting their first child.

Taking to his official Instagram handle, Khawaja on Friday shared an adorable ultra-sound image to make the announcement. He wrote, “Alhamdulillah. Lil Khawajy in the making Insha’Allah. Very excited #baby #2020 #whitecholate #chocolatethunder #combo.”

Rachel also shared the same picture on her Instagram timeline. She wrote, “Uzzy and I are so excited to share the news that we are inshallah expecting baby Khawajy in July 2020. Feeling so very blessed at the moment and can’t wait for this next chapter in our lives @usman_khawajy #babykhawajy #2020 #babynews #allhumdulilah.”

Khawaja and his wife live together in Brisbane and are quite active on social media. Rachel was seen cheering for her husband on Thursday this week when he appeared for the Sydney Thunder in the ongoing Big Bash League.

The 33-year-old took to the field against Melbourne Stars in the preliminary-final clash. The Thunder lost the match by 28 runs and had their campaign ended for the season.

Showing support to her husband and to the entire Sydney Thunder team, Rachel wrote on Instagram, “Not the result we wanted tonight but well done to all of the @thunderbbl boys for their efforts this season! Amazing to make it this far @usman_khawajy #bbl #sydneythunder #thundernation.”

Khawaja, who made his international debut way back in 2011, has so far played 44 Test matches and 40 ODIs for Australia, besides playing 9 T20Is as well. He has amassed 2887 Test runs at an average of 40.7 with 8 hundreds. His ODI numbers are 1554 runs at an average of 42 with 2 triple-figure scores.
