Rohit Sharma missed out on big scores in the first two matches of the ODI series against Australia but bounced back with a brilliant ton in the series decider. The Indian vice-captain scored 119 in the 287-run chase on what seemed to be a tricky track. The Indian opener batted 128 balls for his 119 which included 8 fours and six maximums that extended his good record in Bangalore. Rohit shared a 69-run opening stand with KL Rahul while the 137-run partnership for the 2nd wicket with Virat Kohli turned the game into India’s hands.

3 – Rohit Sharma is only the 3rd player to score as many as 8 centuries in ODI cricket against Australia. Sachin Tendulkar (9) and Virat Kohli (8) are the other players with 8+ ODI tons against the Aussies.
In fact, Sachin and Rohit are the only openers with eight or more centuries in this format against an opponent as all their ODI tons against Australia came while opening the innings only.
11 – Number of centuries by Rohit Sharma in ODI cricket at home; the joint 5th most ODI tons for any player in a country. Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli have 20 and 19 tons respectively in India while Hashim Amla and Ricky Ponting scored 14 each in South Africa and Australia respectively. Rohit is tied with Ross Taylor in this list who has 11 ODI centuries in New Zealand.
