Preview

India's tour of Bangladesh will move to the next phase on Wednesday (December 14), with the first Test at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. Bangladesh won the T20I series by a margin of 2-1. India had a thumping victory over Bangladesh in the third T20I to have momentum going into the next series. Bangladesh have struggled in Test Cricket this year. They opened their account in the very first game at the start of the year against New Zealand and has failed to win a single game since then. They lost their last series against West Indies in June by a 2-0 margin. Bangladesh have never won a Test match against India and will be looking to change this record under the leadership of ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan.

India, on the other hand, will be missing the services of Rohit Sharma in this game. He sustained a thumb injury during the second T20I and has been ruled out. KL Rahul will be at the helm for India again after making his debut against South Africa at the start of this year. India have also had a mediocre performance in Test cricket this year and have not won a single game overseas. They are scheduled to play six matches before the completion of the ongoing cycle of the World Test Championship and need to win at least five games to qualify for the tournament's final.
