Comilla Victorians had managed to win eight of their 12 league stage games and finished in the points table, while Fortune Barishal had won seven and were third in the rankings.

Comilla Victorians had played against Rangpur Riders in their last encounter, where Comilla Victorians won the toss and elected to bowl. The Riders did not start well and had lost three wickets within the powerplay. It was James Neesham who turned the game around with the bat as he smashed 97 runs remaining unbeaten and took the team to a total of 185. Narine was gone on the very first ball in the chase but the second wicket partnership made sure that the game was not gone. They were easily able to win the game by six wickets with nine balls to spare.

Fortune Barishal had played against Rangpur Riders in their last encounter where Fortune Barishal won the toss and elected to bowl. Similar to Qualifier 1, the Riders did not start well and lost three wickets in the powerplay. Neesham could not put his charm this time around but Shamim played a good knock of 59 which helped them post 149 runs on the board. Barishal did not start off too well either but Rahim who came to bat at four stood his ground from one end. He made good partnerships with other batters to take his team over the line and won the game by six wickets.
