Preview

In the 18th match of the IPL 2026, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will take on Delhi Capitals (DC). Chennai Super Kings endured a disappointing campaign this year as they have already lost three consecutive games. Moreover, they suffered a 43-run defeat against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the last match. Batting first, Bengaluru performed brilliantly and scored a huge total of 250 runs. In response, Chennai Super Kings managed to score 207 runs.

Chennai’s top order didn't perform again. However, the middle order played well as Sarfaraz Khan provided some resistance with a crucial 50-run innings, while Prashant Veer and Jamie Overton also batted well as they scored 43 and 37 runs, respectively. Before that, in the bowling department, CSK didn't perform anything good as Anshul Kamboj, Shivam Dube, and Jamie Overton took one wicket each.

On the other hand, the Delhi Capitals didn't perform well in the previous game and lost by one run against the Gujarat Titans. Batting first, Gujarat posted a good total of 210 runs, while Delhi scored just 209 runs. Despite a brilliant start from KL Rahul, who scored 92 runs, and Pratham Nissanka's 41 runs, Delhi lost the match by one run, which definitely shows the mistakes of their batters. However, David Miller also batted well as he scored 41 runs. Earlier, Delhi’s bowling unit delivered an average performance, as Mukesh Kumar took two wickets, while Lungi Ngidi and Kuldeep Yadav contributed with one wicket each.
