Derbyshire will lock horns with Yorkshire in the 80th match of the Vitality Blast 2023 at the Queen’s Park in Chesterfield on June 18. Derbyshire have won three of their nine matches and are in the seventh position in the North Group. Yorkshire, on the other hand, have won six of their nine matches and are second in the rankings of the North Group.

Derbyshire had squared off against Durham in their last match, where Derbyshire won the toss and elected to field. Durham started pretty well with their solid opening partnership of 44 runs. They had a few other significant partnerships but kept losing wickets at regular intervals. They managed to post a good total of 178 runs on the board. Derbyshire started really well with their chase, with their opening batter Luis Reece scoring a fantastic fifty. They slowed down a little in the middle overs, and the match became interesting as it went to the last ball. In one of the rare events of the game, both teams tied the score after the end of both innings.

Yorkshire had played against Leicestershire in their last encounter, where Yorkshire won the toss and elected to field. Leicestershire were off to a brilliant start at a good scoring rate. They lost two wickets in quick succession in the middle overs, which had reduced the scoring rate a little, but the middle order came to the rescue and upped the ante. Finally, they posted a strong total of 195 runs on the board. Yorkshire had a dreamy start in the chase, with Adam Lyth and Dawid Malan smashing 158 runs for their opening partnership. They lost two wickets, but that did not pose any problems in their chase, and Yorkshire won the match easily by eight wickets with 11 balls to spare.
