Noor Ahmad (Player of the Match):

It was a superb win, and I’m really happy with the team’s performance. Personally, I’m pleased with my bowling, and credit also goes to Dewald Brevis for the way he finished the match — it was brilliant. I do focus on chasing the Purple Cap, but for me, the main goal is always to deliver and contribute to my team. My favourite wicket tonight was the nick from Raghuvanshi. I try to hit the right length consistently, and that’s been working well for me.

MS Dhoni (CSK Captain):

(On winning a few games) Few games? This is just our third win (Smiles). Some things haven’t gone our way this season. You can get emotional or talk about pride, but you have to stay practical — think about where each of the 25 players fits in. You want to stay competitive while also finding answers — which batter fits where, which bowler suits which conditions.

Initially, no one was scoring. Now, it’s good to see batters showing intent — backing themselves and playing their shots. These are our current squad members, so we’re using the opportunity to test them. We’re out of the tournament, so it’s about checking their approach and mental toughness. The most technically correct batter isn’t always the most successful — awareness matters more.

Thanks to Brevis, we had the luxury of taking the game deep. We didn’t want to give our wickets to Sunil or Varun. The pitch was helpful for spinners, but not so much for pacers — they found it hard to contain. And don’t forget — I was the last batter. If I got out, the pressure would’ve increased, so strike rotation got tougher.

Dube hitting a couple of sixes helped lower the required rate. The crowd’s support has been amazing — I’ve always felt their love and affection. I’m 42 now and have played for a long time. Many fans don’t know when I’ll retire, so they want to come and see me play. It’s true I’m in the final phase of my career. After this IPL gets over, I have to work hard for another 6-8 months to see if my body can take this pressure. Nothing to decide now but the love and affection I have seen is excellent.

Ajinkya Rahane (KKR Captain):

It was a really tough pill to swallow. We were probably 10–15 runs short; 185–195 would’ve been an ideal score on this pitch. The bowlers bowled really well, but it’s disappointing to end up on the losing side. Was the 30-run over the turning point? Absolutely. In this format, one over can shift the momentum completely. Brevis and Dube took their chances, and it paid off. They were brave, and that's what T20 is about. No complaints—our bowlers gave it their all. As for the next two games, it's pretty simple: try to win both and take it from there.

Dewald Brevis (CSK Player):

I’m forever grateful—thank God for giving me the talent to perform. It was an interesting innings with a few early wickets falling. You need to assess conditions quickly and then attack. On being consistent, I just focus on enjoying the game, staying true to myself, and playing my natural style. I believe I can build longer innings too. The IPL has been incredible—great fans, top-level cricket, and loads of fun. Coming in mid-season made me even hungrier. Just a few weeks ago, I was on the couch watching games. I trusted the process and God’s plan, and I’m just happy to contribute and enjoy myself.

CSK have successfully chased a target of 180 or more in the IPL after 2,551 days and 13 matches.  Last instance: vs SRH, Pune, 2018
