Preview

In the 54th match of the IPL 2026, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will take on Mumbai Indians (MI). Royal Challengers Bengaluru have been in impressive form this season and are currently placed third in the points table with six wins from ten matches. However, they suffered a narrow 9-run defeat (DLS Method) against Lucknow Super Giants in their previous outing.

Batting first, Lucknow posted a huge total of 209 runs, while Bengaluru fell short after managing 203 in reply. RCB’s top order failed to make an impact, but Rajat Patidar played a brilliant knock of 61 runs. Tim David also contributed valuable runs with a quick 40. In the bowling department, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, and Krunal Pandya picked up one wicket each.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Indians delivered a strong performance in their previous game, registering a 6-wicket victory over the Lucknow Super Giants. Batting first, Lucknow posted a massive total of 228 runs, but Mumbai successfully chased it down in just 18.4 overs.

With the bat, Rohit Sharma was the standout performer with 84 runs, while Ryan Rickelton played an excellent innings of 83 runs. In the bowling department, Mumbai struggled to make much of an impact, as apart from Raghu Sharma, no bowler managed to maintain an economy rate below 10. Corbin Bosch, however, delivered a relatively better performance by taking two wickets for 20 runs in his two-over spell.
