Player of the Match – Ryan Rickelton:

Awesome feeling. I have some family here this week, so it’s been a really good week overall. It was a bit of a slow start for me, but we’re now clicking nicely as a partnership.

With the weather around, we weren’t sure how things would play out — but that’s the thing about the IPL, you have to keep adapting to conditions.

I was probably guilty in the first quarter of the tournament of trying to do too much. But we have an amazing think tank, senior players, and a solid management group that’s helped a lot.

🗣️ Hardik Pandya (Mumbai Indians Captain):

The way we batted, and how clinical we were with the ball — yes, absolutely, it was a perfect game. We could’ve added another 15 runs, but the key was playing percentage shots. That’s what Surya and I discussed — there’s value in playing proper cricketing shots. Ro and Ryan batted the same way, and I think it was absolutely fantastic.

It’s never just about giving people chances — it’s about what the situation demands. As a group, the way we batted showed proper batsmanship. People are going back to basics — playing proper cricket.

I don’t even know whom to mention among the bowlers — everyone was clear and executed their plans. We’re focusing on playing simple cricket, and that’s working for us. We’re taking it one game at a time, staying humble and disciplined.

Trent Boult (Mumbai Indians):

As a unit, you can’t ask for much more than that. Any time you defend 210, it’s a solid effort. The pitch was good, and so was the total. It’s satisfying when everything comes together. We’ve got some great experience in the bowling group. T20 cricket is all about momentum, communication, and executing the plans. Luckily, I’ve got some experience bowling here. This was one of the better wickets. Jaiswal played some incredible shots. And Bumrah? Proper nasty-fasty today! He needs no introduction — he’s a world-class bowler. It’s a great feeling. Looking forward to the next one.

Riyan Parag (Rajasthan Royals Captain):

You’ve got to give credit to MI for the way they batted. They kept wickets in hand. Yes, 190–200 would’ve been ideal. We’ve been getting good starts, but it’s up to the middle order — myself, Dhruv — to step up. We’ve done a lot of things right, and a lot wrong too. There have been mistakes and small errors. We want to work on those and also focus on the positives.
