Preview

South Africa will be up against Australia in the 3rd ODI match of the Australia Tour of South Africa at the Senwes Park in Potchefstroom on September 12. Both these teams have already played two matches in the series which is being led by Australia two to nil. South Africa would be eyeing a comeback and winning the next game.

The last match between the two teams, which was the second ODI of the series, was played at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein South Africa had won the toss and elected to bowl. Australia were off to a monstrous start as Warner and Head, both looked in superb touch. Shamsi got rid of Head and Marsh on successive deliveries, trying to make a comeback for his team but another brilliant partnership for the fourth wicket between Warner and Labuschagne put them miles behind in the game. Towards the end, Australia lost too many wickets but was able to put up a mammoth total of 392 runs on the board.
South Africa needed something extraordinary and magical to chase down such a huge total. They started really well too and had an opening stand of 81 runs in just nine overs but the next 40 runs came at the cost of four wickets which pushed them back in the game. Heinrich Klaasen and and David Miller played quick-fire fantastic innings but could not stay for long on the crease. The African team could not bat for the entire innings and were bowled out for 269 runs, hence losing the match by a big margin of 123 runs.
