Preview

Sydney Sixers will lock horns with Brisbane Heat in the Final match of the Big Bash League 2023 at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney on January 24. Both these teams come with a great track record this season, with six and seven wins, respectively in the league stage, where they finished occupying the top two positions.

Sydney Sixers squared off against Brisbane Heat in their last encounter, where Brisbane Heat won the toss and elected to bowl. Sixers started decently, but they lost their first two wickets in quick succession and looked in trouble. However, a brilliant partnership worth 94 runs for the third wicket helped them calm the storm. The batters to follow could not contribute with the same efficiency, and as a result, they could only score 152.

Brisbane started decently as well but once they lost the first wicket, they kept tumbling one after the other. Brisbane could not help themselves and lost the game by 39 runs. Brisbane Heat played against Adelaide Strikers in their last match where Brisbane Heat won the toss and elected to bat. It was a one-man show thereon as Josh Brown simply blew the opponents away with his fantastic knock. He smashed a whopping 140 runs off just 57 balls as he pushed his team to a humongous total of 214 runs. Strikers had a huge challenge ahead of them, especially in a knock-out game. They started decently but losing the first two wickets in quick succession did not help them. A couple of good knocks from Thomas Kelly and Harry Nielsen did save them respect as they lost the game by 54 runs.
