The Indian cricket team is already on their way to the United Kingdom (UK) for their two and half months’ journey. Their endeavor gets underway on June 27 when they cross swords versus Ireland at The Village, Dublin in the first of their two T20Is. Following the completion of the short series, Virat Kohli and his troops will move to England to play a T20I, ODI and Test series, which starts on July 3.
MS Dhoni is a member of the limited-overs team and is expected to play a pivotal role provided the visitors are to emerge triumphant in their lengthy tour. He retired from Tests late in 2014 following India’s Test against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and is plying his trade in white-ball cricket ever since with expertise.
Prior to the tour, the veteran practiced at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore (BCCI) along with a few limited-overs specialists. The veteran is 36 and will turn 37 a couple of weeks later and isn’t a spring chicken anymore. His reflexes aren’t the same by any means, but despite the limitations, he is still going great guns and is expected to play a crucial role even in the 2019 Cricket World Cup in England and Wales.
Ziva and her father’s bonding
The Jharkhand-born cricketer is expected to travel the UK with his better-half Sakshi Dhoni and daughter Ziva Dhoni. Prior to his departure, the wicketkeeper-batsman spent some quality time with Ziva. Dhoni and her daughter’s relationship has caught the eye of many. Last month, during the IPL, Ziva offered Frooti to her father and the former Indian skipper accepted the same gleefully.
The calm-headed beast was also seen celebrating with his family on the ground following victories in the IPL. Meanwhile, the official Instagram handle of the Indian Cricket Team posted a story of them where Ziva was seen in a playful mode, sitting on Dhoni’s lap.
