The historic first Test of the Investec series between England and Pakistan at the Lord’s Cricket Ground also registered historic numbers as far the crowd attendance is concerned. It was exciting 4 days of Test cricket with the balance of the game switching sides with one knock and spell. The visitors managed to beat England by 75 runs and register first scores in the series taking a lead.

The Test was expected to garner a lot of attention among the English crowds and it did. The Lord’s Cricket Ground today release official figures of the number of people who attended the games. It stated that 113,000 spectators were recorded in the 1st Test.

During the course of the game, it twice revised its record crowd for a day of Test cricket between England and Pakistan. The attendance on day 1 was 29,013 and it was surpassed the following day when 29,253 were present to witness the game.

The spectators were treated with some quality cricket as Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq scored a super hundred to lead Pakistan to a solid first inning total. For England, it was all-rounder Chris Woakes who shone with the ball in both the innings, recording five-wicket hauls in both of Pakistan’s innings. He concluded the game with figures of 11/102. The man of the match Yasir Shah was instrumental in his team running away with the game. His match figures of 10/141 are enough to tell you how much of an impact he had on the outcome.
