New entrants Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will take on the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their next group stage match, to be played at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai on May 15 (Sunday). The Super Giants are coming off a big loss against the table-toppers Gujarat Titans and will want to rectify their mistakes in the upcoming match.

On the other hand, the Rajasthan Royals have suffered three losses in their last four games after starting their campaign on a good note. RR lost their previous match against the Delhi Capitals (DC) by eight wickets as their bowlers had no answers to the Australian duo of Mitchell Marsh and David Warner.

As the tournament is coming to the business end, both LSG and RR will want to win their remaining matches and qualify for the playoffs. Both the teams will also be targeting to finish in the top two spots to get an extra chance to qualify for the all-important finals.

Pitch and conditions

The wicket at the Brabourne Stadium saw a high-scoring encounter in the last game. The ground has some short boundaries and both teams will be looking to make the most of it. The skipper winning the toss will be looking to bowl first, considering the dew factor that is expected to play a part in the game.

Playing combinations for LSG vs RR

Lucknow Super Giants

Despite losing their previous contest, LSG would want to stick with the same XI. The middle-order would want to take more responsibility and score some runs to reduce some burden of openers KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock.

Quinton de Kock (wk), KL Rahul (c), Deepak Hooda, Krunal Pandya, Ayush Badoni, Marcus Stoinis, Jason Holder, Ravi Bishnoi, Dushmantha Chameera, Avesh Khan, Mohsin Khan

Rajasthan Royals

Skipper Sanju Samson has played some short but sweet knocks in IPL 2022. However, the team would want their skipper to come good and go all guns blazing as the tournament is coming to its business end. Jos Buttler has not been able to get going in the past few matches and will want to rectify his mistakes in the upcoming encounter.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson (c & wk), Devdutt Padikkal, Rassie van der Dussen, Riyan Parag, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Sen
