Veteran English cricketer Luke Wright looks mighty pleased with the way veteran Indian speedster Ishant Sharma has fared up in the County season this year. Ishantt used his summer to the best possible way. After going unsold at the IPL 2018 auctions, Ishant took a wise move of plying his trade in the County cricket. He signed up with team Sussex for a couple of months in which he played the County fixtures and the Royal London One Day games.

He proved to be a value addition to the side. No wonder why Luke Wright heaped praises on him when he left the team. Luke took to micro blogging site Twitter to shower praises on Ishant. He thanked the lanky speedster for his efforts on the field for the Sussex team.

He remarked that the team could not have asked for a better overseas signing than Ishant, who was not only lively on the field, but also off the field. He wished all the luck to Ishant for his career ahead and hoped to see him again in the Sussex dressing room next season as well.

Talking about Ishant’s performances, the pacer featured in 4 First Class matches in which he scalped 15 wickets. He also played in the Royal London One Day Cup in which he bagged 8 wickets in 6 matches. In one of the fixtures, he bowled an absolute screamer that bamboozled the batsman.

Incidentally, Ishant did not feature in the most recent game against Essex owing to an injury. The extent of the injury is not known. For now, he had to part ways with Sussex to join the Indian team. He is a part of the Indian squad that will play against Afghanistan in Bengaluru in the one-off historic Test match.

Here is the post the Luke Wright shared:

“Massive thank you to @ImIshant for your amazing efforts for the team. We could not ask for a more dedicated overseas player and a lovely funny man off the pitch. Good luck and see you over here soon mate. ????” Luke Wright exclaimed in his post.
