The Indian government led by Narendra Modi made a historic decision earlier this month by scrapping Article 370. This stripped Jammu and Kashmir of the special status and it became an integral part of the country. Ever since then, Pakistan and India are at the loggerheads over the same as the neighbouring country has increased its voice against the violence in Kashmir.

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and a several Pakistan cricketer have voiced their support with the people of Kashmir. Imran, moreover, requested the United Nations to look into the matter to stop things going from going out of the hands. There were different reports coming out of Kashmir ever since Article 370 has been scrapped.

While many have claimed that the proceedings in Kashmir are going smoothly and everything is fine, Pakistan is claiming that there is unrest in the area and is time and again requesting India to stop the violence.

Afridi’s tweet

Shahid Afridi has always spoken openly about the issues in Kashmir and has also been at loggerheads with the former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir over the issue. This time again he took to his official Twitter handle and has surprisingly taken a dig at India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He also claimed that the majority of the Indians do not support his barbaric acts and has requested the United Nations to look into the issue at the earliest. Terming the Indian PM’s acts as ‘barbaric’ is a huge thing and this could lead to some of the Indian politicians including Gambhir responding to Afridi now.

“We expect more from @UN to stop violence&cruelty in conflict zone of Kashmir, majority of the Indians DO NOT support the barbaric acts of @narendramodi it’s time he should come towards building long term peace, this inhumanity should be put to a stop4good #KashmirStillUnderCurfew,” his tweet read.
