The opening encounter of the five-match Test series between England and India turned out to be an exciting one. However, the Brits weathered the storm and eventually prevailed with a 31-run victory. At one stage, they were staring down the barrel of a defeat, but the likes of Sam Curran pulled them out of the precarious position and helped his team carve the triumph.

India, on the contrary, had their moments in the match. Virat Kohli played a couple of incredible knocks of 149 and 51 respectively to keep the home team at bay for quite some time. Ishant Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin tried their hearts out with the leather. However, all their efforts went in vain and India couldn’t topple the might of the Englishmen at Edgbaston in Birmingham.

England to go 2-0 up?

The second Test will now be played at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground and Kohli’s men have a daunting task ahead of them. In the meantime, Michael Vaughan, the former English batsman, has put forth his predictions for the upcoming encounter at the Mecca of Cricket. He mentioned that the green top will help the fast-bowlers initially, but the spinners will gradually come into play.

The track, underneath, is dry and the same will assist the tweakers, which means that the likes of Ashwin and Adil Rashid may come into play as the match progresses. The 43-year-old also mentioned that Joe Root, Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara are likely to score centuries on the strip. In the meantime, he also remarked that the Poms would emerge victorious.

If Root and Co manage to humble India, they will take a 2-0 lead in the series and thereafter India would need some herculean efforts to evade yet another series-defeat. Vaughan took to Instagram and talked about his predictions.
