IPL Auction: Mitchell Johnson takes an indirect dig at his haters

As the IPL auction 2018 makes the news in the world of cricket, to an extent that even dilutes the controversy surrounding the dangerous pitch in the ongoing third Test between India and South Africa, signifies the amount of following this mega event possesses. Before the auction, more than a thousand players registered their names for the cash-rich league but merely 578 of them were fortunate after franchises selection, to get their names held for this year’s IPL auction.

Amongst those who were denied acceptance by the franchise to feature in the auction list included some veteran names with the likes of Zaheer Khan and Mitchell Johnson. While former is a part of the panel of experts with the IPL broadcaster i.e Star, Johnson bears the brunt for not getting a go into the franchise based league. Although, the former Australian spearhead is a part of Perth Scorchers who have already made it to the playoffs of the seventh edition of the Big Bash League.

Mitchell shows age is just a number

There’s no force that can stop a sportsperson other than his will and the passion for the sport he plays. Similar seems to be happening with former Australian who is determined to give it till the last despite people claiming him to be a no more force in the reckoning.

Representing his home-based franchise in the ongoing BBL, Mitchell is still clocking 140+ more often than not, showing the world that the same firepower is still alive in the man when he had that baggy green over his head. He can boast of claiming the fact that he still does bowl with much greater speed and zip than what most youngsters do these days, highlighting that age is a just a number for the aggressive speedster.

Didn’t get a bid; responded with a bang

When his haters were criticizing him for not being able to get selected to go in a for a bid at the IPL auction, he replied them with a bang by tweeting his about his merry and happy times that he’s enjoying in company with his family.
