Mohammad Kaif hilariously replies about his connection with Katrina Kaif

Mohammad Kaif was amongst one of India’s most agile fielders to have played the game. Moreover, his attributes with the willow wasn’t worth undermining either. The veteran played 13 Tests and 125 ODI for the national team in which he scored 624 and 2753 runs respectively. He also boasts of three international centuries against Windies, Zimbabwe and New Zealand.

He made his debut back in 2000 and last donned the Indian colours in an ODI against South Africa in 2006. The Uttar Pradesh-born cricketer will mostly be remembered for his superlative knock against England in the final of the 2002 triangular series, involving the Brits and Sri Lanka. Albeit he went out of the national selectors’ radar, he kept playing domestic cricket.

Is Kaif related to the actress?

Kaif boasts of over 10,000 runs at the first-class level to go with 19 centuries. He represented Uttar Pradesh and Chattisgarh in the Indian domestic circuit. He was last seen playing for the Palace Diamonds in the St Moritz Ice Cricket tournament in Switzerland. A couple of months ago, Kaif eventually called it quits from all forms of cricket.

Recently, the former Indian cricketer organised a question and answer session by the name of #AskKaif on Twitter. In the meantime, a fan asked him about his relationship with Bollywood Kaif on account of them having the same surname. The supporter asked, “Sir are you related to Katrina Kaif? If not, then do you think there’s a chance in the future? ;)”

The question didn’t catch the 37-year-old napping by any means. He reverted and wrote, “Not related yet 🙂 Baaki, already happily married. But heard an interesting story of how Katrina got her surname Kaif, according to that story it has a connection with my name”.
