Mohammad Kaif and Irfan Pathan were viewed as the future of India at one point in time. While there have certainly been a few mishaps in their fortunes over the years as well as several injuries, the fact is that they have now become or at least on the way of becoming legends of Indian cricket legends in recent times.

While their age has increased and their ever-diminishing abilities with the bat has seen them become somewhat of mentors as well as entering a mentorship role. However, despite all of this, the duo had once shared the dressing room in 2005 and 2006 and have been a part of the Indian side for the better part of two to three years, something that they were able to hold onto until the 2007 World Cup at the very least.

However, after that, the fact of the matter was that the Indian board and the selectors began looking towards the future with these two supremely talented players bearing the brunt of the new wave.  However, despite all of this, the duo’s friendship has been something that has taken on new wings each time they have had a transition in their career. Moreover, there is also a simple fact that the duo are both playing domestic cricket with a few years of fire left in their belly.

Speaking about the most troublesome player outside of the wicket, Kaif was quick to answer that it was indeed Irfan Pathan who tormented him with the excessive oil he used to apply, something that eventually saw Pathan also attest to the fact that was put out by Kaif initially.
