Mohammed Shami to start training from tomorrow

Mohammed Shami hasn’t had a delightful moment in the recent times. The allegations surrounding match-fixing, domestic violence, death threats and extra-marital affairs were hurled at him by his wife Hasin Jahan. The situation worsened with every new development and Shami’s career was well and truly heading towards the doldrums.

Following the accusations, Shami’s annual contract had been withheld by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and his chances of playing for the Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League (IPL) also came under the clouds. However, most recently, the tables have turned, which has come as a breath of fresh air for the Indian fast bowler.

In an interesting turn of events, Shami has been declared innocent for any charges of match-fixing by the Anti-Corruption Unit of the board. Subsequently, he has been rewarded a Grade-B contract by the BCCI and more importantly, he has been cleared to play for the Delhi Daredevils. The Committee of Administrators (CoA) headed by Vinod Rai asked the Anti Corruption Unit (ACU) to probe into the gravity of the matter and submit the report in due course.

The restart for Shami

The report has finally been published, which mentioned that no further investigation is surrounding the charges of match-fixing. Shami has earlier asked for the investigations to be wrapped up at the earliest as the issue has been detrimental to his training. After the decision, Shami has mentioned about his plans from now onwards.

“It was a troubled time for me. I will start my training from tomorrow,” the Indian seamer was quoted as saying to ABP News. Meanwhile, the other charges pertaining to the domestic violence, death threats and extra-marital affairs are yet to be investigated. For the time being, Shami would be glad that his cricketing career would finally resume after the turbulence he faced in the past few days.
