Afghanistan cricket will be ruing over their decision of handing over the captaincy charges to Gulbadin Naib earlier in the year. Thereafter the team suffered huge setbacks on the field and as well as off the field. As it turned out it became one of the darkest phases of the country’s cricket and Naib can be held responsible for their downfall.

Even the cricketing fraternity has criticized him for his poor leadership skills. For his selfish actions, Naib has also faced backlash from the internet world. Especially in the 2019 World Cup, Naib was trolled incessantly for his decision to bowl the penultimate over against Pakistan as the team lost the game because of his tactical error.

Thereafter he also paid the price for criticizing his fellow teammates for the team’s poor performances. Another incident that made him the victim of trolls is his mocking tweet against Mohammad Shahzad. All in all, Gulbadin has not been very popular among the Afghanistan cricket fans and troll army which is crystal clear from these incidents.
