On the night of September 19, MS Dhoni walked on the cricket field after the wait of 16 months to attend the toss ceremony. The millions of Dhoni fans around the world couldn’t keep calm as they saw their captain walked dominantly on the field in all his glory. Also, he again showed how he is the King of all when it comes to witty responses. The CSK skipper set the tone for the season opener with his epic one-liner.

The Yellow Army registered a thumping win over arch-rivals Mumbai Indians by five wickets. Chasing down the score of 163 on Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Ambati Rayudu and Faf du Plessis became instrumental in the team’s victory by stitching a partnership of 115 runs.

When Murli Kartik asked Dhoni about the new safety norms, he won the internet by stating, “So that’s why I asked the match referee if you can keep first slip, whether it comes under the rules and regulations of social distancing.”

The epic reply had fans in splits. At the same time, Dhoni also won hearts when he was asked about taking ‘revenge’ from Mumbai Indians. The yellow team doesn’t have a good record against Indians and lost all the games on the last five occasions. Keeping aside all this, Dhoni stated- “Being a gentleman’s game you don’t think about revenge (against MI). You think about the mistakes you made.”

CSK ended its five-match losing streak against MI

These are types of responses, one can only expect from none other than MS Dhoni. CSK finally ender their five-match losing streak against the four-time champions after clinching away the game by five wickets. Though MI stole the limelight by picking two wickets in no time and CSK stumbled on six for two but then came Rayudu and Du Plessis and did all the required job for their side.

After kicking off the league on a winning note, the three-times champions Chennai Super Kings will face Steve Smith-led Rajasthan Royals. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians will host Dinesh Karthik led Kolkata Knight Riders on 23rd September. MI will try to get back in the form in their next match.
