Jozi Stars have easily been the most entertaining team of the inaugural Mzansi Super League as they have produced some of the biggest totals of this tournament. Their last outing against Tshwane Spartans was one of the prime examples. Playing at the Wanderers, Jozi blasted 101 runs in the last five overs to finish with 239/3 in 20 overs. With a balanced attack in both batting and bowling, the Jozi Stars will be gearing up to face Paarl Rocks in the Eliminator game to join Cape Town in the final.
Paarl Rocks, on the other hand, finished in the top three after a bonus point win in their final league match. They defeated Nelson Mandela Bay Giants in the previous match, whom they knocked out on their way. The Bay Giants gave a tough fight to Cape Town Blitz in the first half of the event for grabbing the top spot in the points table before a string of losses. The head to head records between the two teams in this tournament stands 1-1 with the away sides securing wins on both occasions.
The Eliminator match of the Mzansi Super League will be played between Jozi Stars and Paarl Rocks at the New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.
The match starts at 7:00 PM local time (5:00 PM GMT) (10:30 PM IST).
The Wanderers in Johannesburg has been at its best in producing big totals. In three of the five matches at this venue in MSL, the teams batting first posted 200+ and won on all three occasions. In two instances where the sides failed to post a big score, they ended up on the losing side by a fair margin. Batting second can be tricky with the ball skidding through under the floodlights. However, the short square boundaries have helped the chasing sides in staying within the required rate.

Tabraiz Shamsi has bagged at least one wicket in all the previous seven matches in the tournament after going wicketless on MSL debut. The Jozi Stars’ bowling attack has the habit of sharing wickets among themselves.
Best Playing XI:
David Vilas, Reeza Hendricks, Rassie van der Dussen, Henry Davids, Cameron Delport, David Wiese, Dwayne Bravo, David Wiese, Kagiso Rabada, Tabraiz Shamsi, Kerwin Mungroo.
Captain and Vice-Captain Selection:
Rassie van der Dussen showed what damage he can do while batting up the order. He is one of the most reliable players for one of the multipliers. The likes of Cameron Delport, Daniel Christian and Henry Davids are the other options for captain/vice-captain.
The Jozi team took a tough decision of dropping the hulk-like Chris Gayle in their last game. His replacement Ryan Rickleton played a good hand in the tournament thus far. Petrus van Biljon might face the axe if Jozi wants to play both of them. However, Biljon will be the ideal middle-order option if they come down to a stage where they need quick runs.
The Eliminator game is set to be a high-scoring one and the Jozi Stars are expected to win and make it to the finals.
