After a gap of eight months, the playoffs for the 2020 Pakistan Super League (PSL) is set to get underway. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic around the world, the tournament had to be postponed for an indefinite period of time.

On Saturday, November 14, Multan Sultans and the Karachi Kings will be locking horns at the National Stadium in Karachi. The Sultans were table toppers with an nrr of +1.031. They also got the better of the Kings when they won by a mammoth margin of 52 runs. However, facing in the playoffs could be a different ballgame altogether.

In their two practice matches, the Sultans defeated the Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi. The Kings, on the other, won five out of their 10 league matches. Though they were a tad inconsistent, Imad Wasim and Co made the second round.

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch in Karachi was a competitive one during the league stage of the 2020 PSL. Run-making wasn’t a difficult task by any stretch of the imagination. However, the bowlers also have had their say. It’s also pertinent to note that the chasing teams get a fair bit of advantage on the deck. The playing conditions will be warm with the temperature around 31 degrees Celsius.
