Cricket is a religion in India and the IPL is the biggest carnival in the country. It is during this season that the die-hard fans of the game are either glued to their television sets or trying to buy tickets to catch their favorite players in action at the stadium. Lately, a hilarious incident about the cricket craze went viral on social media.

In a choice of personal commitment and love towards the game, a passionate cricket enthusiast gave more weightage to the second option which has shown how much people are affectionate towards the game and the IPL in general. Thus, the fan supposedly turned down the idea of spending time with his loved one just because he did not want to miss out on cheering for his favourite team/players from the stands.

During a recent IPL 2022 match between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Sunrisers Hyderabad, a fan was spotted holding a placard that read, “MY GIRLFRIEND SAYS ME OR IPL SO I AM HERE”.

Apart from this, a passionate female cricket fan had vowed not to get married until and unless the Royal Challengers Bangalore won an IPL title. She was seen holding a placard during RCB’s fixture against the defending champions Chennai Super Kings earlier this week. Reacting to the same, veteran leg-spinner Amit Mishra said, “Really worried about her parents right now..”

The ongoing IPL 2022 has been stretched to over two months with the inclusion of two new franchises- Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans respectively. The number of matches has increased to 74 including 70 league games and four playoff fixtures. While all the teams have so far registered wins under their belt, it is the five-time champions Mumbai Indians that are yet to get off the mark in the points table as they continue to languish at the bottom having lost all their first five encounters.

The Rohit Sharma-led side would be looking forward to adding the first points to their tally when they face Lucknow Super Giants at the Brabourne Stadium on April 16.
