Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians are battling against each other at the MCA Stadium in Pune in Match 14 of IPL 2022. Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bowl straightaway which has been the trend in this edition. However, the big news was the return of Suryakumar Yadav to the Mumbai Indians playing XI as the right-hander was immensely missed in the first two games and strengthens the batting lineup as well.

Apart from Suryakumar’s return, Dewald Brevis has also been brought into the playing XI at the expense of Tim David. Brevis was one of the finds of the U19 World Cup this year in the Caribbean and was even touted as the “Baby AB” which is a big comparison in just his early days. Brevis has been slotted into the middle order at number three and it will be a huge opportunity for the 18-year-old to make a mark in a big tournament like IPL.

While Mumbai made two changes to their lineup, Kolkata Knight Riders announced the return of Pat Cummins and he was swapped in for Tim Southee. Cummins has a big role to play for the KKR side as he offers them the option for death overs as well as can be very handy with the bat down the order. Cummins is a match-winner on any day, but it was unfortunate for Southee who had done really well in the two games he played this season.

Along with Cummins, Kolkata Knight Riders have brought in young seamer Rasikh Salam for Shivam Mavi who was taken to the cleaners in the previous game. There was a huge eruption from the crowd during the toss when Rohit Sharma told that Surya was back in the playing XI. Twitter also could not control their excitement over after they came to know that the trio of Surya, Brevis and Cummins all coming in for the big games.

Here is how Twitter reacted to the changes made for the MI vs KKR
