Najam Sethi proposes Gaddafi stadium be renamed after Edhi Sahab

Chairman of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Najam Sethi has appealed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to change the name of the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore to Edhi Stadium in order to pay tribute to the late philanthropist.
In a tweet, the 68-year-old asked PCB’s Board of Governance (BoG) to approve his suggestion.
I propose to change the name of Lahore's Gadafi Stadium to Edhi Stadium. PCB BoG members may kindly approve my request.

Philanthropist, social worker, a slogan of welfare and humanity, Abdul Sattar Edhi passed away 2 days ago in Sindh district. The head of Edhi Foundation breathed his last at the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) on Friday after kidney failure.

The philanthropist was brought to the SIUT after he had trouble in breathing and was subsequently put on the ventilator. Social media quickly flared up in honour of the man whose work in uplifting the nation’s helpless and orphans made him earn a permanent place in the hearts of Pakistanis. Many call him the greatest Pakistani and his death was termed as a national tragedy.
The 88-year-old was given a state funeral in acknowledgement of his services for the nation for more than six decades. Pakistan team cricket team which is currently in England preparing for the upcoming Test series against England observed a minute’s silence during the tour match on Saturday.
The players also wore black armbands in order to pay tribute to Abdul Sattar Edhi. Many present and former cricketers, artists and politicians mourned his death. The grief of his loss was felt across the border in India as well.
