The first two ODIs had an eerie similarity about them – Bangladesh crawled their way to 220+ and rallied their troops to have a crack at the hosts. Then, Martin Guptill stepped out, hammered hundreds and New Zealand romped home without breaking a sweat.

Now, the final ODI awaits the tourists before the gruelling 3-match Test series commences. Bangladesh will, therefore, try to put up a good show at a bare minimum in order to pocket some pride.

Team news- New Zealand

With the series, all wrapped up, expect the hosts to make wholesale changes. The hosts’ skipper, Kane Williamson, will sit this game out and hand over the reins to Tom Latham. This opens up a spot for Colin Munro, who’d look to make the most out of it.

In the fast-bowling section, Tim Southee might get a game with either Trent Boult or Matt Henry sitting out.

Likely Playing XI – New Zealand

Martin Guptill, Henry Nicholls, Colin Munro, Ross Taylor, Tom Latham (C&WK), James Neesham, Colin de Grandhomme, Todd Astle, Matt Henry, Tim Southee and Lockie Ferguson.

Team News – Bangladesh

The tourists could possibly hand a game to the likes of Shafiul Islam and Rubel Hossain. Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das are due for some runs and they will face the heat in the final ODI.

Mohammad Saifuddin has been expensive and went wicket-less in the two matches and Bangladesh would look to make a change here. Also, Bangladesh is unlikely to tinker with their tested batting line-up.

 Likely Playing XI – Bangladesh

Tamim Iqbal, Liton Das, Soumya Sarkar, Mushfiqur Rahim (WK), Mahmudullah, Sabbir Rahman, Mohammad Mithun, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Rubel Hossain, Mashrafe Mortaza (C) and Mustafizur Rahman.

Hot Picks

Tom Latham: A solid wicket-keeper batsman to have but if Martin Guptill are to get going again, Latham may have little to do with the bat. You, could therefore, look to play Mushfiqur Rahim in your Fantain XI.

Jimmy Neesham: He rose to prominence in the series against India and he’s displayed good form with the ball so far. Needless to say, he’s great with the bat as well and on his day, makes for a lethal all-rounder.

Mustafizur Rahman: He’s bowled good lengths in the 1st two ODIs and has been economical in the process as well. If anyone can dent the NZ batting line-up, it appears to be Rahman at the moment.

Martin Guptill: Yet another reminder, the man walks into the 3rd ODI after hammering tons in the first two games. So please pick him in your Fantain XI without batting an eyelid.
