Sam Billings who is also England’s vice-captain in this squad, will be one of the players to watch out for. Eoin Morgan seems to be impressed with Sam’s leadership skills, who has led his county team (Kent), and also England Lions.  The wicketkeeper-batsman is the best suited for the shortest format of the game, in which he has an experience of 164 matches. Billings missed a lot of cricket recently due to his shoulder injury and will look to cement his spot in the national T20 team.

England need an attacking batsman in their middle-order, and Billings is a very good option for that role. The right-handed batsman is an aggressive batter, proficient with finishing skills as well. The 28-year-old is capable of turning the match in his team’s favour with his 360° gameplay, all over the ground. Besides being well-versed against the pace bowling, Sam is also a good bat while facing the spinners because of his footwork.

Despite having a vast experience in T20 cricket, Billings does not have great numbers to boast. Albeit, he was in fine form in T20 Blast in 2018 & 2017. The dashing batsman has been picked on the merit of his potential, and England are expected to back him fairly. Billings also needs to return the favour, which will eventually help only him in making his case stronger.
