The thunderbolt fast bowler Lockie Ferguson who is returning to the international cricket after an injury is also one of the players to watch out for in the series. Although Ferguson has got limited opportunities in the shortest format, he has been mighty impressive. In his short career of just five T20Is, the 28-year-old has scalped ten wickets. Among all the Kiwi bowlers, who have picked up at least ten wickets after WT20 2016, Ferguson has the best average (13.50), the best strike rate (11.4), and the best economy (7.10).

Lockie can be best used as a wicket-taking option with the new ball in the powerplay and in the middle-overs. The Auckland-born can bowl with an extreme pace of over 90 mph, which makes him very useful with hard new cherry. He was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL this season, because of his gun speed which suits the decks at Eden Gardens. However, he failed to make an impact because the skipper Dinesh Karthik did not use him quite well.

Since Ferguson is a hit-the-deck-hard kind of bowler, he is a very tempting option for the fast and bouncy tracks in Australia, where the next T20 World Cup will take place. Although he is not so reliable in the death overs as he is in other periods, he can do well by hitting hard lengths.

The right-arm pacer who will be playing only the first three T20Is in this series snared three wickets in the first practice match against England. Ferguson will be looking to put on good performances consistently, and make his case stronger for T20 World Cup 2020.
