Needless to say that India have been the standout team in their ODI series against New Zealand that they are currently leading the series  3-1. In their last match, they decided to give a few of their fringe players an opportunity and also went in without their regular skipper Virat Kohli and wicketkeeper MS Dhoni. Subsequently, they also lost the third ODI at the Seddon Park in Hamilton by eight wickets.

In the next match at the Westpac Stadium in Wellington, the visitors would be looking to make amends. The Black Caps, on the other hand, have had a pretty disappointing time in the series and they have floundered in every department. The T20I series starts this week itself and the Kiwis would be keen to go into the fixtures in a positive frame of mind, winning the last encounter tomorrow on Sunday.

Pitch and Conditions

Out of the 28 completed games at the venue, the teams batting first won 15 times. The ground has also been a witness to some scores above 300 and in the last few years, the average score has also escalated. Bowlers are expected to work out of their skins on what is speculated to be a good batting wicket. Teams are most likely to bat first and put runs on the board.

Team Combinations

New Zealand

The hosts may make a couple of changes. Colin Munro is likely to replace an injured Martin Guptill. Henry Nicholls would continue to open the batting. The onus would be on Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor in the middle order. Neesham, Santer and De Grandhomme are the all-rounders. Tim Southee, who was dropped after the Napier ODI, may come in place of Trent Boult. Astle and Henry are the other bowlers.

Predicted XI

Colin Munro/Martin Guptill, Henry Nicholls, Kane Williamson (C), Ross Taylor, Tom Latham (wk), James Neesham, Mitchell Santner, Colin de Grandhomme, Todd Astle, Matt Henry, Trent Boult/Tim Southee

India

MS Dhoni is likely to play in place of Dinesh Karthik. Rohit and Dhawan are the opening batsmen. Shubman Gill will get his second chance at number three. The likes of Ambati Rayudu and Kedar Jadhav would want to perform as well. Hardik Pandya, as an all-rounder, needs to shoulder responsibility as well. Bhuvneshwar and Khaleel are the fast bowlers with Chahal and Kuldeep being the spinners.

Predicted XI

Rohit Sharma (C), Shikhar Dhawan, Shubman Gill, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni (wk), Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Khaleel Ahmed
