Rohit Sharma captained in his first ever international series. He was fairly successful we can say as he won the series with two consecutive comprehensive victories. The Mumbai based batter was absolutely fantastic in the second ODI as he smashed yet another double century, achieving a feat no other batter has ever attained.

He captained the team well in the third ODI where they managed to restrict the Lankan batters to a mere 215. Sharma was intelligent in using his spinners as they snatched six wickets of the ten India took. The ball was swinging at first but the pacers were tactfully tackled by the visitors and then came the spinners and took the game away from the Sri Lankans.

Yuzvendra Chahal was asked about the Rohit’s captaincy and also asked how different he is to Virat Kohli. His answer was very diplomatic as he did not compare the two and also said that MS Dhoni chips in with some useful advice.

Cannot compare both of them – Chahal

Chahal was intelligent to dodge the question as he did not answer it necessarily and rubbished the question itself. He said that we cannot compare two individuals and as both of them captain differently and how MS Dhoni shares his advice here and there. Chahal also said that Rohit’s main focus is on the fielding and how to attack the batter.

“One cannot compare both individuals. Virat’s captaincy is different and so is Rohit’s. Our main focus is on our bowling. We discuss the fielding positions. We can discuss things with Rohit and MS Dhoni also chips in. There was no such difference,” said Yuzvendra Chahal when asked about Virat and Rohit.

Sharma will continue to marshal the Indian side in the upcoming T20I series against the Lankans.
